Yes, even the author of a Gluten-Free dining guide messes up. Either by choice (stupid) or by accident, those of us with a strict gluten-free diet can sometimes goof. And while usually it’s a quick recovery, some very sensitive folks will feel the repercussions of a tainted meal for weeks. And for those of us who don’t have obvious stomach-related symptoms from a gluten poisoning, it can be an itchy, awful experience.
Though sometimes, it seems, these poisonings come out of nowhere, either from a untrustworthy kitchen, an accidental cross-contamination, or just dumb luck.
